PATH is one huge step closer to setting up 30 sleeping cabins for people without homes! On September 15, 20 volunteers with PATH unloaded nine modular units and cleaned up the former Peterborough Humane Society building which will house amenities for cooking, laundry and showers. Programming will also be provided for the future residents. Cabins will also have electricity.
PATH thanks the volunteers for their hard work, the planning firms, EcoVue, and Engage Engineering for their pro bono help, and Cambium Inc. for the provision of environmental consultants at reduced cost. Special thanks go to Habitat for Humanity Peterborough and Kawartha Region for purchasing the property and helping fund some of the studies.
PATH is submitting an application with the City of Peterborough for a temporary rezoning leading to a public consultation and open house. Much more needs to be done and donations are very appreciated. We couldn’t do this without your support. Click on our Donation page for more information.
And if you can donate your time, we’re in need of a bookkeeper.
Meanwhile, enjoy photos and videos of the event.
